Together, we ask that you sign the following petition:

To the Elected Officials of New York:

Dear Friend,

Imagine the American response in 1950 if the Japanese government sought to erect a shrine to its World War II Emperor in Pearl Harbor, right next to the sunken wreckage of the USS Arizona.

Would “outrage” be strong enough to describe the response?

Fast forward to 2010.

Less than nine years after the worst terrorist attack on American soil in our history, an imam who blames America for the 9/11 attack wants to construct a 13 story mosque and Islamic center 600 feet from “Ground Zero.”

This is an outrage!

Public opinion forced many New York officials, as well as officials in the Obama administration, to reconsider locating a civilian trial for Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the mastermind of 9/11, in New York.

Now we need a tidal wave of public opinion to flood New York officials telling them that allowing a mosque to be built at ground zero is a slap in the face of the thousands of families who lost loved ones in that jihadist attack.

This is why ACT! for America is launching a nationwide petition that we will deliver to New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, urging him and other New York officials to oppose the building of this mosque in this location.

To read and sign the petition please click here. Only your name and state will be included in the petition we send to Mayor Bloomberg.

9/11 survivors and their families are in disbelief at the insensitivity being expressed by Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf and his supporters who want this mosque at ground zero.

They are astonished that an imam who endorses sharia law, the same law system that motivated the jihadists to blow up the World Trade Center, would be so brazen as to erect a mosque at ground zero.

There are many other places such a mosque could be located.

What’s more, guess what day they are planning for the grand opening of the mosque?

September 11, 2011—the ten year anniversary of the jihadist atrocity.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! This grotesque symbolism, this spitting in the face of the families of the victims of 9/11, is going too far!

I urge you to join me in standing with the families of the victims of 9/11. Please sign our petition and forward this email to EVERYONE you know! Now is the time to ACT!

Always devoted,

Brigitte Gabriel

Insert knife and TWIST!?!? Well, this is exactly what it feels like to hear this news! WTH is going on?? My God, the poor families of the 9/11 heroes must feel like America is dancing on the graves of their family members. This is totally unacceptable! How will those family members ever be able to go back to ground zero and face this piece of shit?? I cannot believe this is happening in MY AMERICA!

This is insane. Have we, as Americans, lost our minds. A mosque built at Ground Zero is like a total slap in our faces. It’s sending the message that we forgive those for what they did to our country. Perhaps the Politicians are lining their pockets with some kick backs. Do these senators and government leaders not understand the this is like insult to injury. Rub the salt into the wound a little further why don’t you. Haven’t the families of those that died suffered enough. I cannot believe this. DO NOT let this happen.

That anyone would consider building a mosque in the Ground-Zero vicinity is not only insensitive, but an outright and direct insult. I was in disbelief and outrage when I first learned of this, and my position has not changed. Having once espoused the philosophy of religious freedom,

It is just a matter more of respect and remembrance, than religion. Please have some consideration towards those who are resting there forever and their families! Absolutely not a good idea!

This is completely INSANE!!! First of all, put this to a vote of the “American People” and then put this crazy idea to bed and never think about it again.
EVERYBODY–Please wake up, stand up, and SHOUT OUT LOUD.

Let’s hope and pray that our country wakes up in time to thwart these evil beings, who have come here and live amongst us. They plot, plan, lie & deceive the infidels aka non-Muslims in whatever way possible. We know that practicing Muslims are instructed to do this in their holy book, and by their so-called holy men.

Absolutely NOT. This mosque or any mosque should not be built within eyeshot of Ground Zero.

We know the reason many mosque builders create their design to tower over all churches, synagogues and other places of worship to establish their own weird form of dominance. To build across the street from Ground Zero is an insult.

    NO NO NO!

how can I join to protest against this obscuranting construction? Please respond me. L.

Editor — If you live near enough, there is a meeting of the full Community Board 1 at 80 Greenwich St, in lower Manhattan (at the Three-Legged Dog theater group’s headquarters) at 6 PM Tuesday, May 25, where you can voice your opinion or show support for those that do. There is also a planned protest at noon, Sunday, June 6, near Ground Zero yet the exact location has not been determined as permit requests are pending.

It will be a slap in the face to the families of the people that died on September 11, to the people who gave their lives to protect us and to those who are still fighting terrorism as they are giving their life for it. What is this world coming down to… Why don’t they build a mosque somewhere else, how about their country?

An Islam built-and-paid-for building towering over the site of the 9/11 massacre???
With a Muslim Mosque at the top??
That’s a symbolic statement that THEY WIN, WE LOSE!!!
    Come on NY….wake up!!!
This building must not be allowed anywhere in the coutry…much less in NY City…and where are the morons who sold them the property????

I am unable to open the link that the petition is on.

I Sandy Badgett, oppose the building of a mosque at ground zero. This is a sacred place where many people lost their lives. If anything a shrine should be built and dedicated to those families. Please do not take away from these families,by humiliating them in order to please one religion. All Americans should have a choice in this matter. This should be brought before all the American people for a vote.

It had to come to this. The damaged Koenig Sphere cannot be returned to the site “in order to preserve the integrity of the memorial” (architect Michael Arad & Vartan Gregorian, head of the memorial jury). All evidence of the attacks will be wiped off the site – in order not to “tell us what to think” (Arad). We “commemorate the countless accumulated memories of the attacks” by eliminating from the site all evidence of the attacks (Gregorian). “Less is more” (Michael Bloomberg, chair of the memorial foundation). So, at ground zero, the religious beliefs of the terrorists will have a prominent place and the history of 9/11 none.

You could not make this up.
