Vets for Freedom march towards Capitol Hill

Vets for Freedom National Heroes Tour

Vets for Freedom arrives in Norfolk, VA, today, its National Heroes Tour having crossed our nation since departing San Diego on March 17th. Before their game today, beginning at 11:30 this morning, the Norfolk Tides triple-A baseball team will honor the award-winning heroes.

The tour will arrive in Washington, D.C., tomorrow in preparation for Tuesday’s Vets on the Hill rally. There, they will participate in events and meetings on Capitol Hill and tell Congress to support General Petraeus and our troops as they continue to succeed in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Among those on the tour is former Army Staff Sergeant David Bellavia. Yesterday, I read House to House from cover to cover; I could not put it down. Sergeant Bellavia’s account of the 2nd battle of Fallujah is as tough as those who fought and won it.

God bless all who serve our nation.

Vets for Freedom tour includes Medal of Honor nominee

Austin’s KGUN Channel 9 featured Medal of Honor nominee David Bellavia within their video report on the Vets for Freedom National Heroes Tour:

And here is my report about the cancellation yesterday of a former student’s visit (along with other Iraq War veterans) to his Minneapolis area high school. Fifty students skipped school to attend it anyway.
