In order of appearance, the speakers today were: Debra Burlingame, co-founder 9/11 Families for a Safe and Strong America; Congressman Peter King (R-NY); Andrew C. McCarthy, former Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York and prosecutor in the trial of the 1993 World Trade Center bombing; Tim Brown, founder TheBravest.com; and FDNY firefighter Pete Regan, a Marine veteran of two tours of Iraq and the son of 9/11 FDNY firefighter Donald Regan, of Rescue 3.

This is an abomination to the families of the 9/11 Victims of these Godless Terrorist. They should not be given American Citizen rights.Has our country gone crazy to let this happen?

I was fortunate to watch the rally on tv. I wish I could have been there to stand beside you who stood tall and spoke out. Bringing the terrorists to NYC to be among the victims is a contemptable act sanctioned by Obama; but, of course, “it’s Holder’s decision.” Further, it is irresponsible to ignore the pleas of all Americans who say “no, this is a horrible decision for many reasons.”

As an Air Force (WAF) Veteran, I salute each person who stands firm and speaks out. Let freedom ring for those who lost loved ones on 911, for those who fight and die for freedom, and for those who do not take for granted the sacifices we and our ancestors have made over two centuries as we have built this great nation. Let raw justice reign upon murdering terrorists who hate our precious freedom.

These terrorists are not citizens. They are enemy combatants out of uniform. They deserve only what the Geneva Convention allows them.

We really wish we could be there to support you and protest this indecent political decision to try these terrorists in NYC as if they were USA citizens. This is just a ploy to put our country on trial. Please, move this unlawful trial to a military tribunal where it belongs and stop this terrible injustice to NYC and our country.

Patty & Steve Leahy said it best. My belief is this was an act of war and should be prosecuted through the military tribunal system. My main concern is that these cases may be dismissed based on the argument that animpartial cannot be found in New York, or the U.S. Anyone, anyone, who takes arms against our citizens is a terrorist. I pray everyday for the safety of our citizens, and for strength and safety of the families of the 9/11 victims. God Bless our wonderful Country, may She remain free and strong.

Why not have the trial in a civilian court?,most of those who were killed in the 911 massacre were civilian wern’t they?. Those from the top and are anti Obama administration are afraid that the citizens of this country may learn something that the former administration is trying to hide as they have done for the past eight years prior to Obama, do you people want to continue being asleep in your grave of ignorance?.

Editor — Your caustic “grave of ignorance” remark, misspelling of ‘weren’t’, and placing periods after question marks aside, you might open a book (you can find them in the thing in your town called a ‘library’) or Google “Geneva+Conventions.” Of those murdered on 9/11, 2921 of them were civilians because the Pentagon was only hit as a secondary target after the terrorist pilot overshot the White House / Capitol area and targeted it instead. It is a war crime to target civilians and Military Commissions are the proper venue. Perhaps you are the one afraid that the enemy will not be aided enough, by the information coming out of a Military Commission, in killing more of our troops, the very people you likely pop off and claim to support.

This is an act of defiance from this administration to show how “holier than thou” they are. They want to show up the Bush administration with their perceived notion that they did wrong by the Terrorists. Come on, let’s tell it like it is. They are foreigners and don’t have the same rights as Americans and so should be tried as war criminals.

Also, the terrorist at the Army Camp should be called what he is and he should be tried as a terrorist in a time of war. What other times in this Nation could a crime such as this killing be committed and let it not be called an act of war.

Please reconsider for the sake of our integrity as a Nation

This is just one more indication that our President does not like us. He seems to hold nothing but contempt for America and her citizens. Holding a civilian trial for the monsters that attacked us on 9/11 is the epitome of ideology without virtue. Not one person in this country watched what was happening on 9/11 without realizing it was an act of war. The perpetrators should be treated like the war criminals they are.

While I am not at all surprised at Barack Obama’s and Eric Holder’s poor judgement call, and genuinely feel terrible for the families who have suffered so much these past eight years, I hope that our hopey changey president’s habit of throwing America under the bus to make himself look good finally catches up with him and backfires. Bobby Jindal for President 2012!

God Bless you for all that you are doing, and we would also be there to support you, but live too far away. However, our thoughts and prayers will be with you on December 5th.

It is a sad statement of affairs when the Obama administration decides to go forward with such a thoughtless, and legally questionable act, as to bring these savages back to the scene of the crime, so as to enable them to not only spew more of their hate, but to take full advantage of a justice system designed for the citizens of this country – not foreign enemy combatants.

One can only wonder. Are they doing this out of ignorance of the law, or to inflict more emotional injury to the families that have suffered so much. They can say what they want about the Bush Administration, but there is no way that former President Bush would have allowed this travesty. He put the citizens of this country FIRST. NOT our enemies.

I have pictures while under contruction, I worked on the 32nd Flr Bldg 1 ’87-’88. Never a more prestigous address. My heart goes out to everyone who died that day in the name of freedom and liberty. As for these 5 heartless radicals, f–kem. They’re NOT U.S. citizens and should NOT benefit from our system of law and justice. We don’t deserve this. We spent over a $100 mil building Gitmo, let them stay there. We’re at war. Treat them as such, soldiers who got caught.

Terrorists do not belong on our shores! I cannot get there from the midwest, so I hope and pray that all Americans who can, get out and stop this evil from being perpetrated against us!

Sign me up! This latest gaffe by the Obama Administration to try admitted terrorists in New York (or anywhere other than before a military tribunal) is both disgusting and discourteous to ALL American people.

  19. November 24, 2009 at 9:06 pm

I will support your cause because these trials are a travesty of justice. The idea has no principle to it and no purpose but to embarrassed the United States and increase the pain of all the families who lost loved ones. It also enrages those who lived through those terrible moments. It was an attack on American soil and innocent American people. We lost part of our great country never to be recovered. Do we make it easy by this immoral and despicable trials? President Obama and Mr.Holder need to become a great deal more proud of their country and of our Constitution and laws than to give them away.

Good Evening. We are sickened by President Obamas decision to bring these wicked people to America and especially to New York. We will be there in spirit with you. We are Christians and God must be looking down on President Obama with great disgust. He is an awful president…Trying to put abortion in the health care bill, bring jihadists to our country for trial when there faith is all about “killing the infidels”, taxing us to death, and many more moral issues….

God help this man……This man must not have a moral bone in his body….and we definitely know that he does not have a moral compass in his soul…..He will have to answer for all of his decisions. In the next election, I pray that the conservative Christians both democrat and replubican will take a stand and vote these wicked people out.

God Bless your organization and we will be praying that the voice of the American people will stand.

I cannot believe that the President and the Attorney General are doing this to the families who lost loved ones and the United States. I pray and hope that this trial is not political in nature. I cannot imagine that Holder and the President want to put the United States, the Bush Administration and the CIA on trial without any consideration for our families who suffered and are still suffering. To give these self admitted terrorists a world stage to spew their venom is inconceivable and so wrong. What can my wife and I do to help change this terrible direction for our country.

  22. November 24, 2009 at 8:00 pm

In addition to all intelligent arguments about trying these terrorists on American soil, we also have to worry about the safety and lives of jurors in such trials. A guilty verdict could leave these citizens permanently in fear for their safety.

I am looking forward to being there on 12/5/09 and am trying to round up as many supporters as possible to attend. You guys are putting into action all of the thoughts that went through my mind when I heard that they were having these trials. I fully support the cause. Im sorry for your losses on 911.

It is unbelievable that the decision to bring the Terrorists to New York City for criminal trial has been made. Our hearts and prayers go out to the Families of the victims and understand you are now victims again.
    God Bless You.
